Demo Account

The best way to learn forex trading is to start with a Demo Account or sometimes called a Practice Account. A Demo Account can be easily downloaded from Forex Brokers’ websites. It would allow potential traders to familiarize themselves with the trading platform. The trading platform could either be a Meta Trader 4 Forex Trading Platform or a customized web based platform..

Demo Account
The Demo Account would allow the trader to learn the basic functions of an online trading platform. The Forex Trader could gain better understanding of the transactions and the control of orders just like in a real life account. The trader can use the Demo Account to learn about execution of orders. Practice and familiarize themselves on the method of placing orders; instant execution or pending orders. It could be a buy or sell order and how to put a stop loss and take profit as well.

Demo Account of the Forex Trading Platform is the same system used in real trading accounts, except it’s a smaller file. The Demo Account just like the real live account comes with live quote, charts, online forex news and analysis. This would enable the trader to study, analyze and understand the fundamentals of forex trading under real trading conditions, the same conditions they would face when they trade with a real account.

The Demo Account could be used to test trading systems and trading strategies under the real market conditions. The Forex Trader could use the Indicators and Expert Advisors available with the trading platform or import new ones. There are no risks involved as Demo Accounts uses virtual money. It is free.

Demo Account vs Real Account
However, even though it is Demo Account, it is advisable to use it wisely. Use it to train yourself to be a good trader. My advice is when downloading the Demo Account download the amount of funds that is affordable by you. Treat the Demo Account like a real account. In this way you can practice to limit your orders or transactions and control your emotions. Use it to test your trading systems and money management principles.

New Demo Account
Most Forex Brokers will not allow you to use the Demo Account for life. There is a time limit. If you have breached the time limit delete all the Demo Account folders and reinstall a new Demo Account.

Download a Demo Account
Normally the Meta Trader 4 logo is used for the link to download the Demo Account. But in the case of Master Forex, the advertisements banners will lead you to their website and you can download the Demo Account from the website.

    I still have yet to try this system out but I will within the next few weeks. I think it is great that they allow you to have a temp. account to learn on.

    This seems like an excellent idea. The world of forex trading and market trading in general can be pretty daunting for newbies - the concept of letting people try it out risk free for virtual money is the perfect way for letting people hone their skills before moving up to the real thing. Do you know if a similar demo exists for financial spread betting and cfd trading?
